Just a little Update

You know what I love?

Christmas.ย

It’s only 4 days into November and I’m already itching to put up our awesome decorations. I will, of course, restrain myself until Thanksgiving is over so our fall decor can see the light of day for more than just a week or two. ๐Ÿ™‚

But something strange is happening this year. I feel…guilty. Guilty that I love Christmas so much! I dare not mention it on Facebook for fear of being holiday shamed! I do understand that every holiday should have their own space to be celebrated, but that doesn’t mean that I should feel bad for being excited about my favorite holiday.

Really though, I do love this season. I’ve already planned out what I’m cooking/baking for all of the family get-togethers and I’ve finished about half of my Christmas shopping. This is a HUGE step for me because I am usually very crap about planning ahead. I’ve been in charge of our budget/spending for awhile now and I’m just now seeing how much planning ahead actually HELPS! Well hello, being an adult! I’ve also been planning out our meals as well, which definitely cuts down on the food bill. We try to shop sales and buy what’s in season. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to save up a little bit of money so I can get a printer for the house, and when I do I will start being more proactive with the whole “couponing” thing. More on that later, though. ๐Ÿ™‚

The time has come…well, almost. Potty training. We have the potty and the pull-ups. I *think* Sarah is ready. Did I mention that she’s also getting her second set of molars in? She is such a big girl. She’s saying new words almost every day now. Lately I’ve heard a lot about flowers, trees, the sky, and being hungry. She’s in that phase where she’s very weird about food. One day she loves chicken nuggets and the next, she refuses to eat them. I love her still, but I’m getting rather tired of picking up food off of my carpet.

Lily is my little Christmas Ham. She’s HUGE, weighing in almost as much as her sister! She’s teething as well, and will pretty much chew on anything she can get her chubby little hands on. She’ll be 6 months on the 19th and we’ll be starting some baby food. Just in time for the holidays! ๐Ÿ˜‰

They love each other so much. It’s absolutely adorable.

This blog post was originally MUCH longer. I’ve saved that in another spot to work on separately, because it’s my “motherly advice” post and it’s gigantic AND I need to do some more research on certain things that are included in it. So, stay tuned for that within the next month or so.

Until next time!

  1. Don’t worry about how others feel about things and just keep doing what you’re doing because it’s all good!! So proud of the woman (and mother) that you have become!!
