3 Beauty Vloggers That You Should Be Following

If you’re anything like me, when you have a question about makeup, you turn to YouTube.

I mean, who wouldn’t? You can find almost anything on there. Rewind back to a couple months ago to when I was trying to figure out what the heck contouring was and I stumbled upon the magical land of beauty vloggers. After watching my first “haul” video I was hooked. Down the rabbit hole I went…and I must say, it’s been one sweet fall.

Let me introduce you to my three favorite beauty gurus! ♥

From left to right, we have:

Shannon Harris

Shannon, recognized more often as Shaaanxo, is a 23 yr old lipstick lover hailing from New Zealand. She’s been vlogging on YouTube since 2009 and she updates her channel with new video content 3 times a week. Y’all. This girl is. the. bomb. She is so creative with the different looks she comes up with and she’s incredibly down-to-earth and relatable. And those brows? TO DIE FOR.

Kathleen Fuentes

Better known as Kathleenlights, this girl is setting the new standard for a YouTube beauty vlogger. Not only is her channel becoming more popular by the day, but she’s collaborating with some big brand-name cosmetic companies. Makeup Geek? Colourpop? Ofra? If you recognize any of those brands then you know what I’m talking about. Her highlight palette with Makeup Geek is at the very top of my Christmas list this year.

Casey Holmes

Casey’s channel is the place to go to if you are curious about new products. This girl is always trying out new stuff, and she makes it a point to investigate a wide range of cosmetics – from super affordable brands like Essence and Wet n Wild to high-end luxury items. I love watching her videos because she really does understand what her viewers are looking for; 100% honest reviews with a shot of humor.

Of course, there are a LOT more beauty vloggers out there worth watching. These are just my top three!

Do you have a favorite YouTuber?

Let me know who in the comments!

Until next time! ♥ ♥

Ride or Die Makeup tag…kind of?

In case any of my fellow makeup addicts have been out-of-the-loop lately, let me explain what this “ride or die” makeup tag is and where it came from!

The idea is that if you were stuck on a deserted island and had to pick ONE thing from each category (primer, foundation, concealer, ect…) , which products would you pick? What are your all-time absolute favorite makeup products ever? This idea has been popular lately because famous beauty guru and youtuber, Jaclyn Hill, recently put out her video with all of her Ride or Die picks. You can watch that video here.

So, today, I have rounded up all my faves to share with you all! You’ll notice there’s a few things missing…that’s because I’m still hunting for a favorite!

From left to right, we have;

  • NYX Angel Veil primer
  • Makeup Revolution eyeshadow palette “New-Trals vs Neutrals”
  • Urban Decay eyeshadow primer potion
  • NYX lip liner in nude beige
  • NARS blush in Orgasm
  • NYX soft matte lip cream in London
  • Wet n Wild illuminating palette in Catwalk Pink
  • Makeup Forever Excessive Lash mascara
  • NYX HD concealer in light
  • e.l.f. HD setting powder
  • Wet n Wild contouring palette in Dulce de Leche

I’m looking at my list now and a few things come to mind. I definitely should’ve left out that NARS blush. I know, I know! It was the first high-end piece of makeup I ever owned, so I guess I love it because of that? I’ve just never loved the pigmentation on it. I have other blushes that have better color payoff, but I don’t really *love* those either. I’m picky I guess, I don’t know.

All of the other stuff on here though, I do legit love. I use this stuff constantly!

If anyone wants to see any of these items in action, let me know!

Mascara Q&A!

Good morning lovelies! I thought I would throw in an extra post this week for a little fun. I snagged this awesome questionnaire from Queen of the Girl Geeks , one of my favorite beauty bloggers.

So let’s go. Mascara Q & A time.
How many tubes of mascara do you own?

Currently, 5. I’m a fan lol

Favorite Mascara?

Oh gosh. Right now, I’d have to say it’s Make Up Forever’s Excessive Lash mascara. Literally the best I’ve ever used.

How long have you been wearing mascara?

Let’s see…I was about 13 when I started wearing it so, that makes roughly 15 years.

Favorite color of mascara?

Blackest black. Like my soul. *evil laugh*

Favorite guy in mascara?

Not really a fan, to be honest.

One coat or two or three?

Two, then a fiber topcoat. I’m all about that giant lash life.

False or Not?

Not. I think they look awesome, but I’m definitely not coordinated enough to get them looking right.

Generally, no. No particular reason, I just never reach for it in the store.

I hope you enjoyed this short Q & A! Feel free to use these questions for your own mascara Q & A.

Wishlist | Fall 2016!

Hello everyone! Who else is excited that it’s almost time for fall!? I know I’m ready for sweaters, boots, pumpkins, and COOL WEATHER! It’s still way too hot here in North Carolina, and I will be (im)patiently waiting another couple weeks for it to cool down.

While I’m waiting for that to happen, I will be trying out a whole bunch of new (to me) products for you all, so I thought I would share what’s on my wishlist right now!

NYX Lip Lingerie & Lid Lingerie

Every single time I go into Ulta, every single shade of BOTH of these are completely sold out. Every. Single. Time. Y’all, I go into Ulta a LOT. I’m thinking that I might have to bite the bullet and just order them straight from NYX’s website. Just look at all of the perfect nude shades! I’ve seen a lot of the Lip Lingerie shades compared to the Kylie Lip Kits, which I think is awesome because you can get them for a fraction of the price.

Palettes, palettes, palettes!

Here we have the Wet n Wild color icon trio in Velour Vixen, Makeup Revolution’s Fortune Favors the Brave palette, and Carli Bybel’s palette for BH Cosmetics. Now, I will probably pick just one out of the last two I listed but at the moment I can’t decide which one I should try out! They both look so beautiful. But the Wet n Wild trio is only $3, so that will be mine. A gorgeous berry smokey eye? It’s gonna happen.

Milani Blush

And last, but definitely not least, I will be picking up one or two of these perfect rose blushes by Milani. Look how beautiful these are! From what I’ve heard, they are super pigmented too.

So that’s it for my wishlist at the moment! Leave a comment and let me know what else I should check out and what’s on your list!

Until next time!

Brand Review | Wet n Wild

In my last post I mentioned how much I’ve been loving Wet n Wild this summer, so I thought I would dedicate a whole post to it! It’s quickly becoming one of my all-time favorite brands, so I thought I would share what I have, what’s worth getting, and why you should totally love this brand.

I made this neat collage to show you guys what I have!

In the lip category, we have;

  • 2 Balm Stains in Lady and the Vamp & Caffeine Fix
  • 3 MegaLast Lip Colors in Vamp It Up, Cinnamon Spice, and Cherry Picking
  • 2 Color Icon Lip Liners in BrandyWine and Willow

In face, we have;

  • Megaglo Illuminating Palette in Catwalk Pink
  • Megaglo Contouring Palette in Dulce de Leche
  • Coverall Cream Foundation in fair/light
  • Color Icon Blush in Pearlescent Pink

In eyes;

  • Color Icon Eyeshadow Collection in Comfort Zone
  • Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio in Walking on Eggshells
  • Color Icon Kohl Liner Pencil in Calling Your Buff!
  • 2 Color Icon Glitter Eyeshadow singles in Brass & Bleached

And lastly, we have the makeup remover sheets. (which are totally amazing)

You guys. I did not pay more than $5 for one single item on here! Is that affordability or what?! And not only are all of their products super affordable, but they are of great quality too. Those lip liners I picked up at Walmart for $1 each, they are BEAUTIFUL! They glide on easily and you can wear them alone or with gloss – or under some lipstick of course. The Balm Stains are probably my favorite right now because they are just so effortless – just swipe it on and you have a nice wash of color.

Another thing I really love about this brand is that they are always stepping up their game. They’re constantly coming out with new products, color options, and improving their formulas. You can find their stuff in a few different places as well. My favorite being their website! If you’re looking to buy in person, then you can find Wet n Wild products at Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, Dollar General, and possibly your local grocery chain store.

Out of the products I have, the one thing I would recommend to anyone is the Illuminating Palette. You get 4 different shimmery shades that can be used for blush, bronzing, and highlighting. The shade on the far right I even use alone on my eyelids!

Overall, I just love this line of products and they are definitely worth checking out if you haven’t yet!

Drugstore Lip Balm Review | The good, the bad, and the ugly

I’ve been on a hunt this summer for a really great, affordable lip balm. Sounds like an easy thing to find, right? Wrong. I mean, think about it. Almost every brand of makeup, EVER, has some sort of balm/chapstick. Some companies are completely dedicated to it! This summer I’ve tried three different brands, and I’m here to tell you what worked for me, and what didn’t.

The Good

Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue Medicated Balm in Just Peachy

I *love* this line of balms. This is actually the second one I’ve purchased and I’m definitely not disappointed. This medicated balm moisturizes my lips like a dream! It has a cooling sensation when you apply it (due to the hint of eucalyptus and menthol) with a VERY sheer color payoff. The packaging is cute and simple, making this a great item to have in your purse!

Price: $3.99

The Bad

Wet n Wild Natural Blend Lip Shimmer in Frost 100

I had such high hopes for this! I have been slightly obsessed with all things Wet n Wild this summer, so I was really excited to try this out. While the color payoff and shimmer is great, the smell of this lip product is HORRIBLE! So much so that I ended up throwing it out because every time I tried to use it, it grossed me out. If you are sensitive to smells, this product is definitely NOT for you!

Price: $2.29

The Ugly

eos Smooth Lip Balm Sphere in Strawberry Sorbet

So, I’m just gonna go ahead and have the unpopular opinion here and say that I fricken HATE this thing. I don’t know what possessed me to buy this, because I already had one bad experience with this brand…but I guess I’m a sucker for second chances, so here we are. Now, eos, as a brand, is pretty awesome. They don’t test on animals and most of their products are natural and/or organic. I want to love this, but I just can’t. It was the heavenly strawberry scent that suckered me into buying this, but when I got it home and tried it out I just couldn’t do it. It applies smoothly, but within ten minutes of putting it on, my lips were sticky. STICKY. About an hour in, my lips were bone dry. It was almost like I hadn’t applied it to my lips at all!  I’ve tried it twice more after, and had the same results all three times. I definitely would not recommend this to anyone.

Price: $3.29
